I wouldn't think the OP wants to look like a lumberjack at work. Sartorially speaking I can see how jeans and flannel shirts would be considered a no-no, unless you are indeed a lumberjack.

This look has picked up some serious momentum over at superfuture, but I don't think dress shoes look right with jeans, or dress boots for that matter. Sneakers and boots look great, but dress shoes?

depends on the dress shoes and jeans. But I'd say the combo fails more than it succeeds on WAYWT pics.

I think it just depends. I don't want to bring up the "dainty" argument again but I think it takes a fairly robust dress shoe to look right with jeans.

Anytime someone tries to “class it-up” in jeans, there’s a good chance its going to look like aging and/or dipshit hipster ****. Not to say the odd coat and tie can’t be done properly but more often than not a “dressed up” in jeans outfit looks better sans jeans. Dress shoes with jeans look silly, unless they were meant to be casual, Allen Edmonds “whatever” with jeans make you look old, not sophisticated. Running shoes with jeans just look tacky as does any other technical shoe. Oh, and white jeans don’t go with anything.

If you are doing the "dressy on top" bit
Dressy on top with jeans is so stupid. Get your ass back to Weekend At Bernies I say.

Where were all the naysayers on the dozen "dress shoes with jeans" threads?!

For me, I can't wear other denim items with jeans--jackets, shirts. I know denim top and bottom is pretty standard for some people, but I just can't pull it off.

I'd also say dress shirts don't go with jeans--button-front shirts, fine; but finer fabrics and spread collars do not mix well with jeans.
