I think, if I had one pair of balmoral boots in black, and one in brown, I would never have to worry about suitable footwear for whatever I was wearing. I have, so far, been incredibly self disciplined viewing this thread and not ordered any made to order boots....

If those Grenson's were sold in the US for $400 I think SF alone would have already created a run on them.

Shannons in Midnight blue antique on the 82 last. Custom requests were blind eyelets all the way, a plain cap toe with no brogueing, single leather sole + toe taps.

The true colour is as hard to describe as it is to capture; depending on the ambient light they can appear anything from black to slate grey to an indigo denim like blue. Alas, in London it's another dull rainy day which didn't help the photo session.

*edit* Marks for those who can spot the 'swan' flying across the right shoe + apologies for flagrantly disregarding the old proverb 'blue and green should never be seen'

Funny you say that. Nowadays when I travel I prefer to bring one of my chelsea boots. Very easy as you say. The only easier shoe would be a penny loafer, and I do not like penny loafers.

I do not own balmoral boots. Would love to get a pair one of these days, if I can afford it. My blutcher type boots however are a pain to use at airports.

I've never really thought I'd be into blue shoes but those are gorgeous. They'll be perfect w/ charcoal suits and trousers.

Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful.

The color is different and great.

Why, may I ask, did you go with a single sole and not a double?
