I notice sometimes when i wear navy pants, i end up having a bit of a "blue overload" because most of my shirts have blue in them as well. What color/patterns of shirts would you recommend to wear with navy pants to avoid this?

You can almost wear anything. White, pink and yellow are my preferences.

Any light color will do, with white the clear favorite.

Which odd jacket with navy pants is the real conundrum.

The only jacket I have ever owned that I felt really worked well with navy pants was a grey and blue Harris Tweed Herringbone jacket. Wore it with a blue shirt and a burgundy tie and it looked right every time

I've got a charcoal and gray windowpane I think works, but that's it.

I'ma gonna say just off white, like a cream or pale yellow... just 'cause

but seriously, they're navy pants, pretty much anything works.

+This. Navy pants, it all depends on the jacket, which matching to the navy pants is a whole 'nother predicament.
