Going to do it again, for the last time. So we were picking out a cake design last week, and it came up " what are your colors ", WTF, colors. Ok! ivory and royal blue.
LOML is going to wear an ivory dress of some sort, and I had already said I thought I would wear my tux ( after all it's already paid for ). Well cake is 3 tier with all these ivory and blue tinted flowers cascading down the sides, that I could buy a new pair of quite good cordovans or a mid priced suit instead of.
So, she says, it would look good if I get a royal blue cummerbund and bow tie, that would we could match in the boutonniere with ( ivory and blue- natch, our colors ).

There in lies the dichotomy . On one hand I'm thinking, everything would flow, color wise, for a good presentation. But there is voice in the back of my head that says " looking like senior prom wear".
So, I would like some thoughts to take into consideration, to make up my supposedly eclectic mind.

A royal blue bow tie and cumberbund will look ridiculous....like something out of a Men's Wearhouse ad, where all the guys look like they're wearing costumes instead of real tuxes. If you really need to have something match the cake, make it understated...like a pocket square, cufflinks, or maybe even your socks. Then again, if she wants you to do it, you're doing it.

We're not looking for an expensive wedding, and we're both creative and we would really like to create our own unique things to put in the wedding (like designing our invitations, making favors, the dress, etc.) what are some good places that specialize in this.
