Not as SF-approved as NOBD's untipped garza fina (man that's an awesome tie) but gorgeous. Drape and knot are superb.

I just received the blue with white stripe grenadine today. I also just order two of the Thai shot silk ties to try them. I order color #3, the blueish red and #33, the brown. That makes over 60 of David's ties for me. I really don't buy any other ties any more.

(Sorry about the photo quality; I'm using a new camera and a new RAW converter. And taking
pics of a tie is quite hard... Hope you like them anyway.)

Color?

Hello, in order to appreciate the great work of David and Co, this is my first posting on sf. Last Monday, a couple of very nice Hober products arrived.

It looks from some of these pics that unlined and untipped seven-folds are viable options for the macclesfield silks? The order page only lists that option for the wovens.

David told me that it is possible, but he advises against it.

Thanks Spoo. Why does David advise against it?

Thank you Spoo.

From David's email it appears that an unlined macclesfield tie is not recommended, but untipped ties should be ok.

I could be wrong but I think tipping is a requirement for lined ties, in order to cover/contain the lining.

They are just partially lined so tipping is not required.
