I haven't owned any Mabitex trousers, but even 1 in 7 is a pretty crappy statistic.

I've never had trousers rip on me. Perhaps the OP purchased the wrong sizes? Perhaps they're just poorly designed/constructed?

Or maybe he's buying seconds. Who knows. Maybe he has acidic farts?

Just happened to me on a newly purchased pair of linens.
Noticed it on the way to having them altered. These slacks were
never worn. Not a good sign. Never happened with Zanella's,
Wells of Mayfair, Arthur et Fox, etc.

I have over 30 pairs of Mabitex and only ever had an issue with 1. Admittedly, it was a huge issue as the rip was about 14 inches. Thank god it happened getting into my car, which just required me to go inside and change.

The pants that ripped were part of the sartoriole line in wool/silk. I have many wools, blends, cottons, hemp, etc.

Fortunately one of my rips happened at home. The other happened in winter, when I was wearing a long coat. The third happened in Spring. A couple of weeks ago. I was at Starbucks. I stood in front of a bush until a pal showed up to get me and bring me to my apartment.

Kind of funny how this brand has become the darling of this forum. I've had clothes from places SF'ers wouldn't dare even walk nearby, and I NEVER had a damn seam rip. I can only imagine the bashing that would occur if this happened to a pant from a certain group of brands (we all can think of them off the top of our heads).

I only have about 4 pairs but haven't had a problem with any of them in any way. That being said, I don't mind the OP recounting his experience - that's a very poor ratio and I appreciate the warning. I can't blame him for warning others to steer clear.

I still think they're a good buy between $20-50. However, if i paid the ridiculous mark-ups charged on SF for these pants, then I would also be upset by the a$$ blow-out . . .

I bought 5-6 based on general recommendations from the forum. They were in $60-$100 range from various sources. The ones I got felt cheap and poorly made. Maybe I was just unlucky, but regardless I ended up donating them to goodwill.

eh, all I'm saying is making a thread like "warning, check your mabitex stitching before wearing" would have been more appropriate than "nobody buy these!!!"
