And also... with Spring finally trying to gain a toe-hold here (ignoring the snow forecast for this week), and re: Gomes comment on Rose... I find myself craving Albariño.

What will you be lookig forward to with the change of seasons?

^ good topic. I have a case of Domaine Tempier Rose reserved; a case of Hippolyte Reverdy Sancerre pending delivery; and, a new favorite already cooling in the cellar: from BC's Naramata Bench in the Okanagan Valley, Joie Farms Rose at only ~$20 a bottle - this is one of the few BC wines that are starting to appear on US winelists, including Chez Panisse... very refreshing and easy to drink, not high in alcohol and nicely balanced acidity make it hold up to food very well but it drinks equally well on its own too...

http://www.bbcamerica.com/content/40...-road-trip.jsp James May's Road Trip Premiered on BBC TV (US) last night. I'm a big Top Gear fan, here May is joined by Oz Clarke to teach May more about wine... a pretty funny concept. The premiere found them in Bordeaux... and James has a bullshit whistle. Check it out.

Fun wine dinner at one of the better local restaurants last night.

If you like Oregon pinot noir, you would have loved it. The whites were quite good, as well.

Not entirely set in stone yet but should be visiting most of these wineries in a week and a half:

Fog Crest (Sebastopol)
J Wines (Healdsburg)
Martinelli (Windsor)
Failla (St. Helena)
Domaine Chandon (for their still pinot meunier)
DeLoach (St. Helena)

May add a couple more or replace one or two depending on time and taste. I'd also like to hit Russian River Brewery but that's contingent upon gf approval

Russian River Brewery is kinda lame. I mean, the beer is great, and it's a grail place that you have to go to if you're a beer lover, but the food sucks, the people aren't that great, it's in ****** Santa Rosa, etc.

What is so bad about it? Hell on earth, give me a break. You've never even been to Purg if you think that. Or the Central Valley.
