For me, the material, the color, the construction the company is known for, and the price.

And the basic sillouette - I like simple designs, the bland ones. The leather showcases itself - I don't need bells and whistles, and experimental stuff.

I'm just saying that "letting the leather speak for itself" without regard to design or cut is ... frankly, ridiculous. Materials are only one element of a piece of clothing.

I personally don't like Moulton collars, but otherwise I don't think the design needs to be any less or more. As for cut, well, obviously it's not mine, if it was it would be cut to my specifications.

what's ridiculous is that saying a moulton collar, a half belt, hidden storm cuffs, alpaca wool lining, etc. is designless, has no elements, and tantamount to a blank peice of leather. It may not be enough, or the right kind of elements for you, but it is just the right amount of elements for some. Why is this even a conversation? Obviously this jacket, and the Highwayman that started this thread is not like that torn up black jacket above, and it's good they are not. Apples and oranges, but all in the same thread...
