May be the lighting, but the top looks incongruous (BIG WORDS!) with the bottom

I dunno man, the look you've got going right now is about as plain, frumpy and unstylish as it gets. The straight on shot doesn't tell very much though, other than the general shape of it which isn't doing you any favors. I'm not about to run a "how to do your hair" clinic so I dunno and I also don't really want you to post a bunch of shots of your mug/head from all different angles, so just go find a salon and talk to someone who knows what they're doing and ask for some suggestions if you're totally clueless. Maybe you have an SO/friend/sibling who might offer some advice? Shorter could help, the whole shape is just bad though dude.

More light would help... position the laptop so that it's facing you (duh) and you are facing a window. Because everything is so dark there's a lot of noise which kills the detail

Shirt + blazer doesn't work with shorts and boat shoes with those particular examples. The blazer looks a bit more formal (and this could just be that it looks black in the pics which tells me formal lol) which throws it all off, imo. A nice pattern or texture (wrinkled linen, for example) would make it a lot more casual and easier to pull off
