Whole Cut Oxfords: dressy enough for business attire?

I really like the look of whole cut oxford shoes. I am planning to pick up a pair in oxblood and maybe also mid-brown by the end of the year.

I was wondering what people thought of wearing them with business attire. They look more casual than cap toes or wingtips to be sure, but they are oxfords, so they should be business acceptable.

I'm wearing a pair today. With a suit. I don't think they look more casual to be honest. They do draw a little more attention for sure.

Appropriate for business dress -- and actually more formal that wingtips.

I would say they are far more formal than cap toes or wing tips, being less adorned.

But that depends, doesn't it? I've got a couple AE's, Fairfax and Hastings, that have a lotta decorative perfs. Don't understand why wholes aren't more popular, or more expensive than others. And what's an adelaide? I can't Google more than one page deep, the ADD and all.

sure, but in general, the basic whole cut has less going on then a wingtip. Both would be less formal if heavily adorned.

Personally, no; however, I do not see an issue with wearing wholecuts, in most working environments.

This is ridiculous. Wholecuts are more formal than captoes, if anything you're overdressed for successs.
