I'm interested in buying a pair of Alden Indy, but am unsure what size I should get.

Varvatos Chucks - size 8.5
Five Ten Basic - size 9
Varvatos loafers - size 9D
According to Alden the Trubalance last run a half size larger than marked.
Would this make my ideal Indy size a 8.5?

I would check with the Alden stores in either San Francisco, NYC, or DC to see if they will have any in this next year, and maybe Tom (Leather Soul). Yeah, those nice but i prefer full suede.

Those ones have a leather sole. I have seen some Alden's with the red brick sole though. Not my thing but very cool.

Are the more tapered lasts like the Leydon and Plaza meant to have a longer insole compared your a shoe in your size that isn't tapered? I was sized as a 10.5 Leydon but the insole of the shoe is a longer than the insoles of my other shoes. I theory it makes sense since your toes are not meant to go all the way to the edge. Can anyone speak to this?
