A few classmates of mine had recently got married, I now see the pictures on facebook, and it was a day wedding, at first i thought it was a horrible rent - a - tux, instead it was a horrible rent - a - morning coat...

this was on 24-25 year olds...

well atleast they knew the rules right?

Uh... either get it tailored so it fits you better, buy another one you like, or wear something else. What kind of advice are you looking for here?

Wear it casually?

It'll be your new look.

My father-in-law wore a full morning suit to my brother-in-law's (ie his son's) wedding on the weekend. He looked fantastic. Very dignified and a great look.

You asked your tailor for a morning coat and you got a frock coat instead. Maybe it was a miscommunication anyway, as in American English you don't say morning coat or frock coat - you call them a cutaway frock and Prince Albert. That ought to teach to not go around Manhattan speaking British English. Better luck next time old boy, and make sure you get your tailor to make the coat shorter for the next order.

Were grey frock coats much seen in the day?
