For evaluating in terms of bespoke shoes I would ask again "how is the fit?". I can't tell the quality of the leather but it looks like a nicely finished shoe.

The shoe coats the foot like a glove. I didn't wear the shoes for full day so I don't know how comfortable they are. One thing I can say- the difference in feel between them and RTW is dramatic.

They look very nice. For your sake, I hope they fit well enough to justify getting a whole lot at that price.

MTO is easy to understand. You are given X number of colors, X number of last shapes, X number of designs and you get to pick the combination you prefer.

With bespoke the contraint is limited by your imagination. A bespoke shoe maker should have no problem fitting this guy:

Dimitri Gomez is offering semi-bespoke and bespoke...
Bespoke is creating your own last based on your personal physical characteristics and semi-bespoke is using an already existing last close to your personal physical characteristics

They look good. For $300, you can't go wrong. I did notice that it appears that there is no slip bead in the collar. Also, can we see the soles and a close up of the welt please. Thanks.

A slip bead is not really that necessary if the shoe fits, right? Seems analogous to the fascination over a split yoke, but yet the bespoke maker (if that's who you use) isn't using it to make an adjustment to the shoulder...

I think that includes almost everyone except a handful (kabbaz, udeshi maybe, couple others?)

I think the biggest 'couldn't care less' moment comes when you find out macaroni wants to proxy your purchases for the humble sum of $200 or more... from Warsaw.

Gee, recent US legal rulings favoring the plaintiffs against China are being told, "That's a nice piece of paper you have...don't care... we aren't paying". And those companies can still trade lawfully to other US companies without penalty.

Sounds like fun trying to figure out a $300 shoe purchase plus almost 100% mark up by an unknown person. I'll admit it isn't a life-changing sum... so good luck to the pioneers

By your definition, it is bespoke. I was only limited by imagination with a choice of style, shape, color (this is limited by skins available). There is difference in process. No fitting, already existing last, but I have seen him reshaping the last for another clint making a square toe on his usually round toe lasts.

Macaroni,

What is your opinion of J. Kielman? Is he "full" bespoke? Do you know anyone who has ordered using only measurements (e.g., over the Internet)? I'm still waiting for the review on your blog
