My wife isn't a racist or otherwise fearful of being associated with the Yellow. Can't speak for other women. I think it's awful when the reason why a spouse doesn't take the other's last name is because she doesn't want to be mistaken for a race other than her own.

Lalo is not quality - their cakes suck monkey derrieres. It's one of those places my friends from out of town (not talking about RJ here) like to meet for a cuppa and a slice of disgusting stuff.

I mean, check the website and look up to see the title of the page in your browser
http://www.cafelalo.com

Anyhow - if you love it, knock yourself out

Oh, I'm not saying anything about you--it's just that your observation is all too accurate and I decided to rant. We have several white female friends and acquaintances all too happy to take a diamond ring from their significant others, but who are troubled with the thought of taking their last names because they are more like Wu or Hernandez and less like Smith or Goldstein. I think it's disgusting.

Seared pork belly? Would that be thick strips of undercooked bacon?

I really really really wanted to live in the 7th again when I went to work in Paris. I ended up instead near the Jardin du Luxembourg in the 14th.

Almost. The best thing is to chomp down on it in a way to squirt fat on someone across the aisle attempting to cut their rubber chicken with the metal fork and the plastic knife.

That is pretty disgusting. I would definitely want my wife to take my last-name.

Nothing wrong about the arrondissement itself, it's beautiful. Just generally never got along well with the old-money grand-bourgeois and faux nobles kids living there.
