All this time I thought that you had just run out of shoes to buy.

What would happen if Aportnoy developed Mafoofan's one-shoe philosophy? Buy 7 new pairs of the same shoe every week? Hmmmm.

Aportnoy, how is reverse calf different from suede?

Yay! He's back! Fantastic commissions as usual. Can't wait to see what else you have from recent stock.

If I may be so bold - and others may feel differently - I think I prefer the angle of your standard photos better than these which are closer to the ground. The standard ones seem to provide a better overall feel for the shape. Of course, perhaps you could just take photos from both angles and get the best of both worlds!

Maybe you could hire a professional photographer to take pictures of all your shoes. You could even have some printed and framed, to hang on your wall, or on your desk like people do with their loved ones.

Andrew, beautiful shoes. With such light suede, however, my heart would sink if anything gets on them, but then I am a small timer.

Suede is the generic name for a leather with a napped finish. This is done by sanding the flesh side (which is matte anyhow) to achieve a deep matte, uniform texture. That skin can come from almost any animal: calf, goat, sheep, deer.

Calf or goat (kid) are used for shoes, sheep or lamb is frequently used for clothing, deer has become pretty rare (or maybe just expensive). “Reversed calf” indicates that it is not the usual grain-side-out.

Suede refers to Sweden and "gants de Suède" (gloves of Sweden), which were obviously made in that type of leather (probably game).
In German the generic name for suede is “game leather” (Wildleder).

Actually, I’m not aportnoy.

I like the double monks in particular. I find the model usually to be a bit of an iGent cliche but Cleverley manages to craft something with originality and style.
