So I see all these threads and people talking about not washing their jeans for a year, soaking them in all sorts of strange chemicals and other strange stuff. I bought a pair of these Citizen of Humanity jeans for $30 at Bloomingdales, the MSRP was like $250. They are plain dark denim jeans, no logos, prints, fades, rips holes, etc. Plain jeans. The fabric feels almost like raw denim, but not as tough. There is no indication that it is raw because there wasn't a tag on the jeans because it was a returned item. Now for any pair of jeans how should you really care for them?

-How often can you wear the pair
-When it is time to wash
-How to wash
-Misc advice

Thank you very much!

Edit: I just checked the inside seem and it has the "white" lining along the seem that the GQ magazine that came out today says in an indication of quality raw denim. Does raw denim vary in how it feels with different brands?

Aww Dude, I dont know what youre going to get hammered for more, a) the brand of denim you just bought, or b) the white lining comment.

I don't see what is wrong with them if they are plain jeans.

Ah yes, that strange chemical dish soap.

I went to bat for this purchase when you made it, because frankly, I don't see much wrong with them.

But despite their raw feeling (they're probably rigid), they aren't raw. As such, there's no reason to treat them like raw denim. This means you shouldn't prolong washing them since there are no fades to be had and thus, no contrasting to be attained.

Yeah ill admit they dont look half bad.

But its all about the cut. How they look on is what matters. And I know those jeans are super thin, something i hate. Denim should be thick and strong, its not sweatpants.

look = Ok
cut = ? (probably douchbaggish)
construction quality = doubt it

That white lining comment does not come from me, it comes from GQ. Make fun of them.

Alright, but how often can they be worn before a wash.

They are thick and stronger than any other jean at my Bloomingdales with the exception of Zegna and Armani raw. The cut is straight, and flatters my body very well. You need to understand I have odd proportions and it is hard for me to find a good pair of pants. I have $500 RLPL pants that do not flatter me as good as these.

I hear you. Hope they work out for you.
