Hipstahz hate teh Vampire Weekend because its good AND makes you feel good. That's why bro's like it too. Its against the law for music to make you feel good in an unironic, carefree way.

Yeah, ATD-I had the potential to be great. Not a single band, but I think Spencer Krug's various projects (Wolf Parade, Sunset Rubdown, Swan Lake, Frog Eyes, Fifths of Seven) are collectively good enough to be considered among the best bands of the decade.

The "hipstahz" I know love Vampire Weekend. You'd probably classify me as a "hipstah" and I do hate Vampire Weekend, but I also love un-pretentious joyous music. Some of my favorite stuff is Phil Spector era girl group music. The Crystals, The Shangri-la;s etal. And yeah VW is very bro-friendly indie rock.

I thought AF was going to admit that he truly loves Vampire Weekend. That would have been all the confirmation I would ever need to know that I truly loved them as well.

ATDI was great. Relationship of Command is a landmark album for post-hardcore in the way that Fugazi was, and the other two are very decent.

Yeah, man. Invalid Litter Dept. gives me chills. I haven't listened to Fugazi though; thanks for the tip.

After not listening to this album for a few months, I finally listened to it again.

It's not that it's necessarily horrible, but it makes me want to punch myself in the face for listening to it. It just lacks any sort of edge. I don't know exactly how to describe what I mean.

That's because it does lack any sort of edge. Bunch of Ivy League kids take a few afro-music classes and suddenly everyone's fellating them.

13 Songs is a definitive listen for anyone. If there's any band you can name drop to drop hipster panties, this has got to be it.
