I pay 18 and usually get it cut once a month and usuallly get it nearly buzzed. I'm thinking of trying it myself. My roomate pays like under 10 at some dominican barber shop, I may try that first lol

Mr. Topper's near Tottenham Court Road does haircuts for £6!
It's all right if all you need is a simple cut.

Used to be about $11 + $3 tip. Various places.

The past few times, I've been honing my skills and have gotten pretty good at cutting my own hair.

Free. I been cutting my own hair since Jr. High School. It has saved me lots of $$ over the years.

See, there's your problem right there: going to "salons."

If you're a straight guy and your hair style lasts for 5 yrs, 10 yrs, or a lifetime, and you simply need your hair, well, cut, then $25 bucks should be more than enough to cover it in any city on the planet (and I've had my hair cut in expensive cities).

If you pay more than $25, then you are no longer paying for a hair cut. At that point, you are paying for something else, like hair coloring (or frosting or whatever the hell they call that--not my thing), or paying for the insanely hot chick (or dude, if that's your thing) to rub her chest on you, or just paying for the "brand name" of the salon experience.

I guess $100+ for a haircut is like paying $500 for a pair of Prada shoes--neither is worth the price, so you're just paying more than you should to convince yourself you got something special.

But hey, if it makes you feel better, then go for it. I'm sure others would call me crazy for spending more than $1,000 on tickets to certain sporting events so we all have our own ways of overspending!

In New York City: $45 I go to a Japanese place near NYU
In Korea: $0 not only because I pay in Won, but because my very good friend owns a hair shop and does it for free.

I cut my own hair. #2 all around. then let it grow and just cut the back of the neck, then buzz it again after a few months.
