I blew it on these today. For $12 I couldn't resist, as I knew I'd have a hard time finding anything like them in my size and for the price. Florsheim Imperials, with the V-cleat, in dark tan pebble leather.

This no purchase thing has really changed my mentality. Perhaps even when Easter rolls around, I will buy nothing unless I really have to.

I'm thinking along the same lines. It's silly but it forces me to more realistically assess if (a) there's a place in my closet for the item, and (b) do I really love it. In all honesty, I think the Sorrento would have kicked me out of the club if someone else hadn't bought it - it checks both boxes

This is all very true.

I'm at the point where I really need to love something rather than just thinking it's something that would be nice to have in my wardrobe.

For example, I was (and still sort of am) contemplating buying a tux from the B&S.

Do I have an immediate need for a tux? No
Have I ever needed a tux in the past? No
Will I have a need for a tux in the foreseable future? Not really.
Is it a staple of any man's wardrobe - Yes.

I'm still undecided but at least I haven't yet pulled the trigger.

Just fell off the wagon....for a pair of Frye harness boots, $120 (60% of retail).

If I return them, am I back in?
What if I tell the company to delay shipping until April?

Moo, you need to check the white balance on your D300. Most photos seem to have a reddish tint (viewing on my color calibrated office monitor) ... Play around with the balance a bit and see if the pics come out any different (and hopefully, even better).

Hmm, interesting - never heard this. I'll double check my monitor at home, which is also calibrated every two months.
