Browsing on e-bay, I came across two pairs of Allen Edmonds shoes, both labeled cognac. Which is the real deal?

So is there a difference between burgundy and cognac?

Augh! I thought the second pair was tan, but I have seen the same colour shoes advertised in B&S as cognac.

the second pair seem to be more like chestnut to me. Id actually say cognac is right in between those two.

My Strands are a similar color to the second pair and I think the color is chestnut, but I could be wrong.

just check the AE website. AE is not that inconsistent in their coloring. One of the listings is wrong. I believe the darker one may be "BOURBON" color

The first pair look just like my Byrons...in "chili".

The second pair is more accurate. The "cognac" on the AE website is incorrect, the true color is a deep tan.

One is Very Superior Old Pale, the other is just VS.

Or perhaps one is Armagnac and the other Calvados.
