anyone been to the Zegna store outlet in Woodbury Commons, NY lately?? I'm curious to know if they are having any after Xmas/Winter sale on their regular line of suits.

Anyone have a good connection with the sales staff there as well? I'm going to try to connect with a sale staff and ask them if they can send me periodic emails when they have something in my size.

Thanks.

I know they sell the second rate Zegna lines, but I don't remember if they sell the 'first rate' line of suits a.ka. Made in Italy (if so are they at a good discount??)....

The Zegna outlet is a wholly regrettable experience. They sucker you into a visit with the "Zegna" name, but it's about 97% cheap Made in Mexico stuff. Occasional gems like the Zegna Couture line could be find, usually in the really odd size/length.

80% of their stuff in that store is their outlet brand, Cretti(sp?)...... sprinkled in with some mainline Zegna and Courture stuff. The best deal in that outlet store is the 80% rack they have, sometimes you could find couple of mainline Zegna jackets for cheap.

I get the whole Italy argument (Italy = great; non-Italy = crap), but there are shades of grey. There's plenty of Italian-made crap and plenty of non-Italian-made stuff that's very high quality. I have some Zegna mainline shirts that were made in places other than Italy that were bargains at $125. I have a sportcoat from Brooks Brothers that was made in Mexico that still looks and feels great after five years. You can tell a lot about a piece of clothing by picking it up and examining it.

I love Mexico for its women, tequila, beaches, food, etc.....But not for their tailored clothing.

Another vote for the Zegna outlet being a let down. Best purchase Ive ever made at Woodbury - Zegna cream sportcoat that had a tag for $1100. I paid $99. The twist - was at Off 5th......

If you wear or have worn Zegna, you will notice a stark difference when you try on a suit or sportcoat at the outlet. IMO, the outlet offerings are very different in fit and inferior in quality.

The Zegna Woodbury Outlet is disappointing, pass it by and use the time to go to Last Call @NM, Saks Off 5th, Hickey Freeman and Etro.

I've had a similar experience at the Zegna outlet in Cabazon, CA. Lot's of made-for-the-outlet "Zegna" and one Zegna Couture jacket, in my size (!!!!) but priced at full retail. WTF??

I've also been to the Cabazon outlet... I agree with the disappointment... I did find a flannel Zegna Heritage two buton suit that fit me like a glove (with the exception of the sleeves)... It had very fine, narrow, close together purple, gray, and orange stripes on navy... I thought it looked wicked but it was a little over the top and they still wanted $1K...

I thought about getting it but I kept thinking that the right guy to wear it would have to look something like this:

I second your opinions on the Zegna Outlet in Cabazon. VERY small selection (especially in the 38R, 40R sizes) and the "discounts" are paltry - still paying close to 1000 bucks for a wacky patterned Zegna suit. Salesmen aren't that knowledgable either - stated the fit was very similar to an Armani Collezioni...

when you are looking at the suits how can you tell the difference between the Mainline stuff and the cheap made in mexico stuff? Is the Mexico stuff fully canvased? will it say made in mexico on the tag?
