Would this pocket square look strange on me? (pics inside)

I remember the first time I wore a pocket square, I was nervous too. But there is absolutely nothing contrived or OTT about that square, so wear it whether you are nervous or not. Before long it will be second nature.

And don't do a puff fold. Just a little showing above the pocket is all you need.

I went through with it and wore the square today in the tv fold and it went great.

No one mentioned the square specifically but I got alot of compliments today including, "you look dapper," or "you look nice, very classic looking" etc.

I know you might think it was my imagination but I noticed a bunch of old ladies (45ish) came up and spoke to me that usually do not.

I'll definitely wear one again when the outifit calls for it. I felt that the navy suit with skinny woven navy tie was just calling for a white square and I'm now glad I went with it.

The pocket square and the fold you used is about as conservative as one can get. After you are comfortable wearing that combination, you might want to try a silk with a pattern. The most important thing is that you are comfortable with what you are wearing.

On another note, while I realize 45ish is old to you, for your continued good health I suggest that you never allow any woman of that age group hear you refer to them as 'old ladies'.

Cheers, Jim.

It is rare that anyone sports a square in my city. I see one or two other gents while walking about at lunch but all the time I recieve comments from the ladies at the office and from ladies during the walk. Nothing finishes or completes the look like a square and a white one never fails.

It's true. It's the finishing touch. And don't worry, the more you wear the square, the younger the ladies with the compliments will get!
