They put me under when they took out mine... I woke up mid-operation and apparently tried to stand up and leave (I don't remember anything)

The next day I doubled the painkillers and went to The Warped Tour

I had two impacted, infected wisdom teeth removed at the same time, with only local anesthetic. The side of my face was swollen the size of a tennis ball. The doctor broke my jaw extracting them and I had pieces of jawbone working their way out and stabbing me in the cheek for about the next year. I don't remember which pain pills he gave me, but the relief I experienced from having the teeth removed was wonderful.

Conne stop reading HERE.

P.S. for everyone other than Conne:
Having my jawbone broken isn't really as bad as it sounds, since the bone on the outside of wisdom teeth is paper thin and easily broken. Sharp pieces of bone periodically rubbing my cheek was really, really annoying, though.

I went to an OMFS to have mine removed. He drugged me good, and while I was sleeping, he shot my mouth full of local too. Then he gave me a scrip for a bunch of pain pills. I was fine after two days or so. Two came out easily, two required some extra effort.

Maybe mine wasn't so bad or the surgery was minor but I had very little pain. I remember taking the Vicodin the first day just to see if I'd get loopy. I didn't and it must have worked very well because I stopped taking it. I took one and then stopped.

No wait, now that I think back to it, the surgeon told me he accidentally threw away the teeth bits because I remember telling him I wanted to keep the tooth. He ended up having to drill a hole in one tooth, then expanded the hole to break it into bits, then removed the tooth bit by bit. As for the other, it came out clean but he threw it away with the bits.

I remember the worst part about it was the taste of the food stuck in the holes. God that was awful.

Jaw is sore. Ironically, all of my other teeth are hurting, but the wisdom holes are feeling OK. I am about to attempt to eat an egg on an English muffin. Wish me luck.

I had my four wisdom teeth out in April, 1961. I had just turned 19. They gave me a general. I can remember spitting a lot of blood afterward, but I don't remember any specific discomfort afterward. I just remember that I spent a lot of my time convalescing reading the Cambridge Ancient History, Volume VII, I think.

They put me under when they surgically removed mine. I don't remember what pill they had me on, but I felt really good for the few days I was on it.
