Which haircut should I get?

Hi guys,

I'm 24 years old, and for the last 9 years I've alternately shaved my head or kept the hair very short (only a few millimeters). I always thought I'd keep it that way for life, but in the last few weeks I started thinking about letting it grow and getting a haircut to see if it would enhance my looks. My wife think I'll look stupid with hair, but I hope it's just because she has never seen me like that and that the thought is weird to her.

I have 2 questions:

1) What haircut do you think would look good on me? I thought about a don draper.

2) How do you go from not having any hair to getting that haircut without looking stupid in the process? I start looking like an idiot if I just let it grow longer without doing anything with it. Should I keep trimming it on the sides and put some wax on top or?

It may sound stupid but I haven't had hair for so long that I feel totally alienated to the whole concept.

Thanks!

You can't really escape the awkward in-between phase, just don't give a **** and let it grow out. Visit a hairdresser once it gets to a decent length and explain the haircut you're after (or bring a picture), and they'll cut it so it grows out the way you want it.

Thanks. Not giving a **** is my speciality.

Wear a bandana when you're growing your hair out if you want to avoid the awkward phase.
