Which brown shoe goes better with a navy suit?

Shoe #2:

Is shoe #2 "too" dark of a brown for a navy suit? It almost looked black to me at first (especially in the last pic)

Just about any brown shoe will go well with a navy suit. Get which shoe you like best. Don't buy a shoe to match 1 suit.

Would it make a difference if I said I already own a pair of black shoes
I'm in the minority on this one but I really do not like brown shoes with navy suits. It's black for me, or burgundy for a more casual setting.
Interesting....after doin some research, it turns out burgundy/oxblood IS more versatile than dark brown (can match it more with diff colors of trousers/suits). Burgundy and dark brown are both for less formal/casual settings so it would make sense to go with the more versatile casual one, aka burgundy. I just need to try both colors on and see for myself lol

Lol I would say that depends on the setting...for an interview yes but for most other occassions, brown (not light brown) shoes are fine

In London, at least, anyone wearing a brown shoe with a blue suit would be regarded as an oik.

Brown shoes with blue odd trousers for casual wear by all means, but not with a suit.

I guess that would apply under the "setting" condition. Good to know thanks. What are your thoughts on burgundy vs dark brown for casual wear?

I'd go with the second pair as the first pair is likely to be significantly lighter than the suit, which I usually find unappealing. In my opinion, navy does not necessitate black shoes, but merely a dark enough color to not be lighter than the navy color of the suit. (Obviously, for the near-black navy varieties, only black will suffice.)

Would you consider even these shoes to be too light for the navy suit?
