When to wear a Pique shirt?

I'm sure this is a dumb question but I don't know the answer to it. When is it appropriate to wear a white pique turn down collar shirt?

1. White tie? (I'm thinking yes)
2. Black tie? (I'm thinking yes)
3. Stroller? (No idea)
4. Suit? (No?)
5. Casual (Hell no?)

Any clarification would be appreciated.

Yes. Very bad with white tie (wing collar only), marginally bad with morning wear (shirt should be plain broadcloth, though a faint color a discrete stripe is OK).

Absolutely. And nothing else. Soft collar (but that's debatable). Of course polo shirts are typically made of a kind of pique, but that's not what we're talking about here, I presume.

Thanks for the input fellas. Next question. I need some dress shirts. Where would you recommend? I'm a 17x33 so buying OTR sorta sucks. They either fit in the neck and arm and are WAY too loose or they fit in the neck and the arms are way too long. Thanks. I'm thinking MTM.
