Speaking of Daffy's, this thread goes to a question I've had about no-name casual pants there. I've been fortunate to pick up a few Incotex, but I also took the plunge and bought a pair with some name like John Barritt. Even if they are not that well made, it's no big gamble for $20. They fit well enough. I've seen other pants that I thought about but backed away from because I did not know the name. Would you make the small investment under these circumstances if you liked the color and fit?

of course, if you like the color and fit? for $20, these are pants, not stocks!

fit, style and color surpass name. they most likely will not fall apart on you :)

Never seen John Barritt there, but go for it and the other brands.

All are made in Italy and are really nice.

I would be wary about buying a sportcoat from an unknown name though. Unless it's a bespoke maker.

they have patricia pepe firenze there too that is nice.

never seen luciano brandi, richman's n.y., marcus, or luca d'altieri. a lot of stuff they have has the euro tags with Euro prices still marked on them.

Why be wary of buying a SC from an unknown name there? I purchased a linen SC from there (Mr. Ramos) that is just fine. It's not Isaia, but it's pretty solid for summer in NYC wear.

Yeah, I got a really nice Patricia Pepe Firenze polo recently. Some PPF has some weird styling, but from what I saw there, it's a good quality label.

Luca d'Altieri has some really nice fabrics.

I guess you're right about the unknown name. If it appears to be made well and fabric seems good then go for it.

The question referred to Ebay and, that poses an issue. If I come across an unkonwn brand in a store I can examine it and determine the qaulity/fit of the garment and weather or not it merits purchase at that price point. With Ebay it's a total crapshoot. If it were branded I would know a thing or two about fit and quality but, without it, I'm clueless. I would pass and wait for a deal on a product I had confidence in.

Yes, french cuff. I prefer barrel cuffs, but I liked the rest of the shirt too much. I got it from the Philadelphia Daffy's about a month ago for 27 bucks. They recently had a lot of blue shirts like this there also, but not in the shade I like.

Ebay is full of fakes....They have been in big trouble with Louis Vuitton recently...
Rayban,Armani,, Dolce&Gabanna,Versace and other products on offer are obvious fakes..
The good news is that a fake article tends to be a copy of a recognized label therefore if you don't know the brand name you might have more chances to get the quality annonced...
