What pants colors look good with a black sport coat for a casual event?

What shade of khaki/bone/stone would you recommend?

Gray would be your best bet. But you wont find many here professing a love of black sport coats.

The only time I really wear a black sports coat would be with dark jeans. Gray would be okay as well.

This "black sportscoat" is not an orphan suit coat is it?

I have a few black sport coats that I wear for nicer dinners. I like to wear white pants, grey pants, or white with dark navy/black windowpane. I like it.

Not a fan of black sportcoats, either. But if you must, for a casual event - midnight blue jeans, light shirt.

I don't think Black is for a casual event... it should be for a more formal night event.

Just make sure the SC fits very well or you'll look like a security guard. I have worn a black SC to a few evening events (clubs, bars, Vegas, etc). My style for these outfits may not have been fully SF approved. Some may even say it borders on hipsterdom.

In the past I've worn the black SC with:
-grey prince of wales slacks, burgundy tassel loafers, white shirt, gingham PS, burgundy cardigan
-midnight blue corduroys, black lace up brogue boots, white shirt, grey cardigan
-white jeans, burgundy loafers, denim/chambray shirt, black knit tie

Black is pretty neutral. One could wear just about any color trouser with a black abomination ... I mean sport coat.
