What is this zipper for?

I bought this Cole Haan bag about a month ago at the Saks outlet. On the back is a pocket for papers, magazines, etc. Does anyone know what the zipper at the bottom of the pocket is for?

I believe that is an opening to allow the bag to be slipped over the handle of a rolling carry-on type suitcase... so you don't need to hold two things at once.

he's right. when travelling, it keeps your bag secured to the pull-out handle of your wheeled luggage.

That is assuming that it has a large opening above the zipper or it opens to the back pocket where the papers are....it could just be a pen holder!

I thought it might be for running a power cord but the travel idea makes more sense.
