I'm going to rush out and by a Tom Ford suit off the rack, but instead of something for winter, I will get an atrociously ill fitting one for spring and not wear it at all.

Really, I'll probably be in shorts and a polo shirt.

Ahhhh, you mean the black tie ensemble with the white piquee waistcoat!
Rather unsual nowadays, but it's basically the same what mark from plano has shown, I had it once with a boiled detachable collar and once with a piquee front detachble shirt in WAYWN.
However, I will take a pleated front turndown collar shirt and a black satin 3 button waistcoat this time, so it will be easier to distinguish.
I am not sure if shall take a peak or shawl lapel tux though.

You're in Germany? Are you in one of those duelling fraternities? I bet they know how to party.
