Using Only Leather Conditioner on Shoes

its fantastic, i use it after every wear which is a bit excessive but it makes the leather beautiful and soft to avoid drying and cracking. you can also polish it up to a mild shine. its $19Aud for 1/2 a kilo, worth every cent imo

as i only have black fading is not such an issue

Colour differences across the shoe will develop but if the colour is lightening too much, that's no good either. I think a coloured cream is important in keeping the colour rich. If you like a patina to develop, you can also emphasize it by using darker or lighter creams on different parts of the shoe.

Dont do it with wax, it messes your shoes up.
