Scabal festival book has cloth like this in two or three colors. Very difficult to tailor.

What makes it difficult to tailor? I've heard that the spongy LL houndstooth is hard to tailor too

This is not true. It's made by Zegna which is very different from being rebranded Zegna. Even a cursory look at both makes it obvious that they are not the same.

I'm aware that TF specifies a different cut than usual ZCouture, as well as other bells and whistles (Milanese buttonhole, etc)

But I'm fairly certain that he takes advantage of Zegna's excellent fabric stock, since it is a vertically integrated firm.

That may well be true, I don't know what fabric he uses.

I think it's just about impossible to go down the road of --- "What's that celebrity's jacket made out of?"

You'll essentially never make an exact match - or, if you find a similar garment it won't be of comparable quality.

You also provide no information about where you live, what your price range is, and what - exactly - you want to have made. For instance - if you live near a MySuit store, then you could have an evening jacket made that is aesthetically similar to this jacket, but not the same jacket (by any means). It also wouldn't be of the same quality - obviously, because it's "made to order in Mexico."

I'm not sure why posters don't provide more background.

Regardless, I don't think you're going to find this fabric. I've seen a Versace jacket that's similar, but that was three or four seasons ago, and it was close - but not quite there.

If you have a budget of 4-5K (USD, or Canadian, perhaps), you could easily have this jacket recreated by Harry Rosen in Canada. And by "easily," I mean, you would need to go to Canada for at least one fitting, and it would be a turn-around time of 2 months. So, you also haven't told us when your event is - other than "it's coming up."

If you have the money, and the time, Rosen has access to a wide selection of Tom Ford/Zegna fabrics (if that is indeed what Craig's dinner jacket is made out of).

Finally - I'm looking at Craig's jacket and I'm thinking - that doesn't look comfortable, nor does the fabric really flatter one's frame (even his). It bunches up. It's stiff. It's honeycombed. It's not ideal. As people have pointed out to you - it's not easy to tailor (to work with), and it doesn't drape.

So, why do you want it?
