Hi, I know this is the men's clothing section, but didn't know where else to post the photo and question. I think these are for woman's dresses? Does anyone know what these would be called? Can't find them on google anywhere. Are prob from the late 20's or early 30's. Thanks

I saw hangars like that at the Breakers in Newport, RI. They were used to hang dresses in closets that were tall, so the closet rods were very high up, if I remember correctly.

Hi Viator, thanks for the reply. Yes, the closet rod is high, 9' high ceiling in the closet and the rod is about 8' above the floor. Have a bunch of these that I was asked to sell and trying to get some additional info so I can describe and price them accordingly on ebay.

Thanks again!

"It's a 'high-bar' hanger used by couture fashion houses and theatrical costume houses to maximize storage capacity."
