It would stand to reason that the XS would then be for those with a chest of 34-36?

Well, the jacket arrives and it has a P2P measurement of 20.5"

How can S be for chest sizes 36-38, then the XS have a chest measurement as large as most size 38s? This is insanity...

That seems aberrant; I own one cotton jacket and tried on a variety over the last year, and I've usually found the M's are aimed at 40Rs like myself

A friend recently bought the linen sportcoat in S and found it to be true to size

^ I wouldn't assume the J+ fit is the same as the normal line - it isn't for their shirts.
Also, for what its worth I don't think uniqlo blazers/odd jackets are very good, or at least I have never found one that worked for me, and I like quite a bit of their stuff for the price.

At first I thought the +J stuff would be slimmer, but I have cashmere sweaters from both lines and it seems like the standard Uniqlo one is actually the slimmer of the two. No idea about the blazers.

The Navy +J blazer had the exact same fit as the regular one when I was there about 4 months ago. For me the 40 fit perfectly and I'm a true 39.
