Tucking in shirts the right way

I agree with you but different people have different views.

To my dad the idea of not pulling it out would have been crazy. Of course maybe it was a backlash to years in the military. He thought the shirt should come out a little .

If this is for business, get "tailored," "trim," or "athletic" fit shirts (if not made to measure "MTM"). When you tuck in your shirt, don't pull it back out or "blouse" it. Any extra material in the shirt should be moved to the back. Pull up your pants, too.

Tuck it in as far as it will tuck. Lift your arms to your sides until they are parallel with the floor. This will pull the shirt out VERY far if it isn't well fitted, but it's going to happen anyway. If the shirt is well fitted it will only pull up a minor amount. This is desirable.

+1 on this test...shirts that are slimmer (trimmed) and with higher armholes will have less pull

Yes, I think it has more to do with armhole being too low. That will definitely make the shirt come out.
