Tommy Hilfiger Suit Separates at Macys?

Anyone own one of these? They're inexpensive at Macy's and the jacket has a slim fit with good waist suppression. The shoulders seem overly padded though -- a 40R fit perfectly except for the exaggerated shoulders which looked bulky and too broad. A 38R was too small with the button closed.

Any suggestions for a similar fit to this suit without the crazy built-up/padded shoulders?

Honestly, it's not bad for the money if you can get it on sale. I've got one and I like the fit (post-tailor) - I'd wait until a 1-day Macy's sale before you by it though. Shoulders aren't bad for such a cheap dept. store suit. Also, check out M. Valentino on ebay from "the wizard of aahhs". I know it sounds sketchy and you'll find plenty of skeptics, but in my extensive pre-purchase research I found that most people who have actually bought one from him have been pretty happy. He throws in a nice discount if you mention SF.

Though the standard advice on here is to check out the buy and sell forum or not be stingy and invest in a couple of Brooks Brothers suits. Whichever path you choose, good luck!

I have a tweed Hilfger slimfit sportcoat that I love. Got it for 50 bucks at Macy's, you can't go wrong! Only wish it had elbow patches so I can wear it when giving lectures.

I'd echo that they're certainly pretty good for the money.

I grabbed two on an impulse purchase when they were on sale but never actually had them tailored or wore them. The cut is what sold me, they fit pretty well and looked good. They're certainly nicer than the entry level JAB stuff.

At $500 retail they're too pricey, but anything in the $250 or under range I say they're worth it.

If anyone needs a Brand New Charcoal 42R suit then check my sales listings, $110 Shipped :)

I found the sleeve pitch on those Macy's TH suits to be ridiculous. You'd have to be pushing a shopping trolley to get the sleeves at an angle where they won't ruffle up on the back of the upper arms
