My wife bought me a suit for my bday and i thought the shoulders were too broad. Is it normal to have a tailor bring the shoulds in?

No, the shoulder fit is very important and should be right from the start. I suggest you exchange it for your proper size.

No. The single most important area for a suit to fit you correctly is in your shoulders. If the shoulders are too big, you need to get the jacket recut. That tends to be an expensive operation. If you sense the shoulders are too big, they probably are. I'd exchange the suit for something that fits properly. Once you get the shoulders right, you can look at other alterations.

If she returns to the shop alone - get refund
If you go to the shop with her - try on different size jackets

It is my size. It is a 52 reg just like my other suits and it was the only one they had in my size. I got it at Jos A Bank. I already told thebtailor to fix it.

Well y'all were right the tailor screwed up my suit coat. But the good thing is Jos A Bank replaced it with a brand new suit. So now I got to find a new tailor and wait another 2 weeks to get to wear it. Thanks for all the input.
