Suit Pants Fit Advice

Hello,

Does anyone have suggestions for how these pair of pants fit? This is part of a suit that I bought from Indochino. I'm fairly confident with the jacket, but the pants look odd to me. The back of the hem gets caught on the heel of the shoe and causes some wrinkles - not sure if that's normal. It's most obvious in the first photo.

Any advice would be appreciated :)

the leg opening is very narrow so it's not surprising that the hem catches on the back of your shoe. In addition it looks tight in the top block (wrinkles around the crotch).

Should I make the leg opening wider then? I'm afraid it would give it a bell bottom look though.

You’d want to widen the entire leg. However this depends on how much material is in the seams of the legs.

angling the hem probably won't do much. The hem will naturally come up and down as you walk, sit down, etc. The distance that it naturally moves vertically is much larger than the vertical distance of a slanted hem (say 0.5-0.75"). If the leg opening is too narrow the hem will keep catching on the back of your shoe.

Another alternative is to shorten the leg so that the hem does not touch the back of the shoe. I am not a fan of this look but maybe you now realize why very slim trousers typically are also worn short.

I see - so either make the legs wider or shorten them. Thanks :)
