Adjusting the quarters is tricky i believe (possible, but a fair amount of work), but would have to be partly done if you shortened it anyway. So maybe you could do both at the same time? From the photos, it looks as if the pockets are well placed for you, and sufficiently high to allow maybe an inch or more to come of the bottom of the jacket without making it look unbalanced.

In relation to your arms, the jacket is perfect, but in regard to your overall body it is too long, IMO.

+1, it looks fine compared to your arms but from the back it looks like it's 2 inches (?) too long...

Then again, it's more about how you feel about it in the end. We're a picky crowd. Is it worth it to you to change it?

I think the jacket is too big. The shoulders look like they are hanging off a cliff. And I agree with the others, it's too long.

The trouser length combined with the baggyness effects your shape it makes you look a lot bigger then perhaps you are or want to be!

You might have a similar issue to me, which is about body proportion unrelated to arm length. I've found that I have a short torso, so getting a jacket that's the right length on the back and side actually means that based on my arm length it should be hitting at the FIRST nuckly/joint of my thumb, not the second, which is about and inch or two higher then normally suggested.

If you look at your pic, having the jacket hit you there would probably raise the back and sides that 1-2 inchest everone is suggesting.

From what I can tell it seems to be a good fit, just finish the things you mentioned such as the sleeves and pants and it'll look great.

Yep, I think you're right, M-C. And since I doubt it's possible to alter a jacket's length that much without messing up its proportions, I've decided to return the suit.

Also, now that SkinnyGoomba has taught me about open quarters, I don't want any suit or jacket without them. It's one of those fairly small details that ends up making a very big difference.
