Suggestions for club wear?

Going to vegas in a few weeks, and planning on hitting some of the clubs. Normally when I go clubbing, I just do the usual button-down shirt, nice jeans, and some sort of black shoes.

But since it's going to be crazy hot in Vegas, can you get away with replacing the button-down shirt with a "stylish" t-shirt? I'd assume the dress-code at most Vegas clubs aren't very formal, but I don't want to be stuck not getting in.

Also, on a similar note, any suggestions for shoes to go clubbing? I'm looking for something that can be worn to clubs with the "no tennis shoes" rule, but aren't very dressy either.

Thanks for any help!

You'll probably be OK, but it depends what club it is. Vegas really isn't that bad in terms of temperature, all of the casinos are ice cold because of AC and unless you're walking long distances outside, it's not terribly hot because there isn't any humidity. I think you'd be OK with a thinner dress shirt. You may want to consider a thinner wool black or charcoal pant because of the heat rather than jeans though. Cheap's suggestion of a fitted polo is good too. As for shoes, you can use one of the black tennis shoe-like shoes, usually they are fine for clubbing. An example would be these: I bought them at NM Last Call for $30 last year... http://www.bluefly.com/pages/product...&Nu=Product+ID

What sort of club are we talking about? That would surely make a difference...

Isn't it funny how, inevitably, clubs that enforce dress codes are still populated almost exclusively by douchebags?

Guess what, that is actually an international phenomenon, too!

Hey, is there any shoes that you guys recommend that would be cheaper than 100 dollars. I mean I'm always willing to pay 200-300 for some Allen Edmonds shoes for suits but if I'm going to wear shoes to a club wehre there might be some wear and tear and possibly people stepping on them, I really don't want to spend too much.

I've seen some Varvatos loafers and oxfords at Nordstrom Rack for around $100-130, they are made of distressed lambskin and would likely just look more distressed if they were stepped on etc. They seem fairly comfortable and more stylish than the usual Kenneth Cole garbage. These when on sale will be something like $130-140... they go 15% off and then you can find a coupon for another 15% off. http://www.bluefly.com/pages/product...&Nu=Product+ID

Adidas Samba sounds like the pefect shoe for you - comfortable, unbelievably stylish (fashion-conscious Europeans eat them up), and about $56 from Zappos.com. http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/499309/c/151.html *edit* Just saw the comment about no tennis shoes. I'm not sure whether the Sambas might be considered tennis shoes or not. Also, even though most SF members would disown me for even saying this - Kenneth Cole shoes can be had for very cheap on Bluefly, and IMO they look nice for clubbing.

All you need are some CoH jeans, a vertically striped shirt, and those KCs and you're ready for American Jackass with or without the optional blazer.

Heh this is probably true.

I went clubbing with a few friends a couple years ago and my buddy was wearing a dark suit/tie into the club and some girl asked him if he was a federal agent heh

Thanks dude, yea I can't wear those samba shoes for clubbing unfortunately. They only want dress shoes not tennis shoes. Thanks for the suggestions, I think I will check out some Kenneth Cole shoes just to see if they look good for clubbing.

if you are looking for better quality than aldo or kenneth cole, try a pair of taxto's. they are made in italy and are very good quality. you can find a pair on sale for under $100.
