Styling my 1950s Harris Tweed jacket

Picked up this 1950s Harris Tweed jacket yesterday, with what I thought was an interesting color and pattern. I'm not exactly sure what to call said pattern?

Oddly it looks black and white up close and in photos, but when I put it on appears to be a medium brown.

How do you guys wear these coats? I was thinking classic khaki chinos with brown derbys, something sporty, but I'd love to hear how about how everybody else wears these historic jackets.

I think that's a barley corn pattern. Your styling thoughts above are spot on. Also, navy, light-to-mid brown or grey trousers might work as well - even denim could work.

How wide are the lapels? Hard to tell since it looks like they have been popped up. My sense is that they might be very slim?

They are indeed very slim. I have since found that the pattern is nailhead.

Wear it the way you would wear a contemporary tweed jacket in the same
or similar color(s)/ pattern.

It’s neither barleycorn or nailhead. The distinction of the weave is due to the contrasting yarn. Just a one off pattern.
somewhat Ivy League, traditional style. Wear it with Oxford cloth shirts or over sweaters. Moleskin or textured cotton trousers. A few shades of grey flannel will work.

I do have a good solid wooden hanger for it. It definitely looks like a unique piece, as I haven't been able to find a similar one anywhere online. I'll take your advice on the textured pants, corduroy or flannel would would? What about a plain khaki chino?
