Sport coat fit and collar gap

Could I please receive some feedback about the way that these jackets fit? I like how they feel in the shoulders, and they are the correct length, but I keep worrying that there is too large of a gap between my shirt collar and the collar of the jacket. The jackets lay well on the back of the collar, but the sides feel like a potential problem, like my neck is too small to fill it out. Could you please let me know what you think?

Forgive the quality of the photos. We do not have selfie-friendly mirrors!

I agree, that jacket doesn't hug your collar very well, particularly the grey one.

Admittedly, the collar of the shirt I wore with the gray jacket is pretty skimpy — it is a J. Crew slim fit shirt. A friend suggested trying them with a spread collar, and it definitely works better.
