1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Unabashed, avowed buckle-hater here. They look great on the shelf, but I swear they were invented by the Devil. I've been seduced by their siren-song before, and yet when trying to put them on they ALWAYS move to the most awkward position where I can't get my too-short arms with my too-fat-and-clumsy fingers to wherever they decide to twist round to. The fuckers get me EVERY. SINGLE. GODDAMN. TIME - while the shop assistant rolls his eyes (and probably tweets surreptitious pics with a hashtag like #pigcontortionistfail to his sniggering followers.)

I shudder to think what kind of sobbing, helpless mess a button-boot would leave me in.

    Yes, I am a Neanderthal with a one-track fixation on pointy-lasted oxford-style lace-ups.

    Till this very day.
I do not know how to use the button hook for my EB button boots.

They lie as I have received them.
    In the box.
I love them, but haven't quite gotten down to wearing them yet.

    Technical difficulties.

Good lord - putting on a belt every morning must be so traumatic for you! :)

There's a YouTube video that shows how. It's pretty easy. I doubt it takes me more than about 3 minutes from both boots off to both boots on and fully buttoned. I actually timed it once but can't remember the exact number.

Leaving such awesome boots unworn borders on criminal - but as you have a zillion other pairs, you get a pass. ;-)

They tend to make belt buckles bigger'n shoe buckles. It's like Duplo vs Lego.

Pfft - compared to threading a shoelace through an eyelet I would think a shoe buckle represents a comparatively large and easy target. [IMG]

Don't get me started on trying to thread a shoelace through an eyelet on-the-hoof....

My solution is to replace all my shoes with Lazy Man's.

The whole process will take around 2 months for it to ship. Please let me know if you are interested, all we need is 5 more participants :)

    Thanks

I'd be quite interested seeing a lazyman solution for buckle shoes.

    Yes, @RogerP - I'm that lazy.

Carmina shoes are $450 or are you saying they are offering GMTOs at a lower rate?

I was told if I manage to get a bulk order of 6 it will be the same price as the 922 Wingtips listed on the Skoaktiebolaget website, which shows USD347..

Has to be a misunderstanding - please note that we have separate pricing for US and the rest of the world.
    EU price is 3700 SEK
Non-EU is 2960 SEK ex VAT
US price is USD 450 (including shipping, customs etc)

I'm guessing you are looking at the standard (non-US) site and looking at the currency converter for USD. This might be a bit misleading as it's not valid for US clients, only non-US We'll see if we can make this more user friendly in the future.
