------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is a listing for an incredible, new-with-tags Ermenegildo Zegna mainline for Yves Saint Laurent topcoat. It features full canvas construction. Made in Italy to the highest standards. It is tagged a 40R US / 50R EU, and runs true-to-size. To establish Ermenegildo Zegna mainline (made in Italy) as the manufacturer of this coat, please familiarize yourself with this thread run by connesiuers on Styleforum. (http://www.styleforum.net/t/63972/zegna-labels-ids-for-ebay-purchasers-graphic-intensive/0_50) The basic idea is that some high-end manufacturers like Zegna do contract work for other fashion houses that lack the manufacturing capability (factories, etc.). However, when Zegna makes a garment for another company, it will stick its own garment tag in the interior pocket. For a given year, the format of those tags is always the same. Thus, a genuine Zegna can be discerned by looking at the interior garment tag. The quality of the 100% wool fabric on this sportcoat is superb. SUPER THICK "melton" style wool. Extremely soft to the touch. Zegna sources fabrics from some of the best mills in the world for its sportcoats. This sportcoat is no exception. It would make an excellent addition to any closet. It will shield you from the coldest of winter days. The colors of the fabric is solid black. It would make a perfect workhorse topcoat. Cary Grant, considered one of the most stylish men of all time, favored a black topcoat. He remarked in 1958: The topcoat I use for traveling can be worn spring or fall. It's black and therefore not only less apt to show dirt and travel stains, but usable for both day and formal wear... An all-purpose coat." (http://www.gq.com/style/wear-it-now/201304/cary-grant-on-style) The MSRP on this sportcoat is about $3000 before tax. So consider this a deal on an amazing coat! Specs: -Made in Italy by Zegna mainline -Slim cut -FULL Canvas Construction -Three button front -Solid black "Melton" wool outer fabric (VERY WARM - 100% wool) -Double vented jacket -Fully with bemberg cupro -Slim cut with great trim waist -Will generally need little or no alterations off the rack Approximate measurements in inches (reference only): Shoulders: 18.5 Chest pit to pit: 21.25 Sleeve from seam to cuff: 27.5 Length from base of collar to bottom of coat, taken from back: 36
