Shirts/ties in Manhattan

I just moved from Los Angeles, where I wore a suit without a tie every day, to Manhattan, where I have to wear a tie every day. Most of my shirts are not suitable for ties because they are too colorful/busy patters. Can anyone recommend a good but not too expensive place?

I used mytailor in California. I could use them here too, as they are over the internet and have my size, but I would like to establish a relationship with a NY seller.

Thanks in advance.

Can you give me a ballpark price? Also, do they sell ties? The website does not indicate they do.

I like Charles Tyrwhitt for shirts. They generally advertise 4 shirts for $200, but you can usually get them for $40 each. I recently saw a thread offering a discount on their shirts. I like that they have whole-sized sleeves (33in, 34in, etc, not just 32/33 or 34/35) and various fits (classic, slim, tailored).

Depends on the fabric, but I think in the range of $100-200.

I would say Turnbull & Asser. The best shirts. I've never owned their shirts or neckties before or been to their NYC store before. I've got some fabric swatches years back.

I would just stick with MyTailor honestly. I am in New York and thats what I use. I have used CEGO and he is great but price is slightly higher than MyTailor and fabric selection isn't the greatest.

Turnbull & Asser is too expensive for what you get in my opinion. Their collars/two button cuffs are unique though, and if you like that you can get someone else to make it.

True, T&A's bespoke shirts are $365-$495 (first order's half-dozen minimum), bespoke ties $180-up (first order's three necktie minimum). Prince Charles wears them (see his royal warrant on the tag of T&A shirts). My friend from high school owns a blue T&A shirt with standard collar shirt with trademark three button cuffs. Even Sir David Frost wears T&A too.
