Sorry for the noob question but I do need some clarification. When measuring a shirt or jacket for SF, I don't understand how to measure the garment for sleeve length. When I lay down the shirt/sweater(I should lay it down right?) , to measure from the shoulder seam down to the end of the cuff - what part of the shoulder seem do I measure from? As lying flat the shoulder seem is an arc, so the bottom of the seam down to the cuff will measure very differently than the top of the seam down to the cuff. So if someone on SF says a sleeve measures 25", from the cuff up to what part of the shoulder seam? Also on a shoulder measurement, I assume that is across the top of the shoulders, correct? Hope my question makes sense, if not I will post a pic later, as it's worth 1000 words. Thanks for your replies, as this will greatly help me spend more money buying your stuff

I believe they're measuring from the sleeve cuff straight up, along the sleeve, to the top of the shoulder where the sleeve ends and joins the shoulder (at the highest point), along the outside.

This might be different in some cases. I think standard practice is to just measure straight across the garment, more or less along the highest part, but not the "top" (laying flat), maybe a bit down... not over the top (like if you were wearing it and going across the top of your shoulders, but more along the top of your chest)... Also, the back measurement sometimes helps imply a certain fit...

- Jacket is a generally a crown-cuff measure ie top of the shoulder to end of the sleeve.
- Shirt is generally from the middle of the back of shirt, across to the top of the shoulder and then down to the end of the sleeve. Some sellers use the same measure as with the jacket though. It's usually obvious from the listing/context which they're using.
