Saw an amazing deal for a tailcoat/white tie

$299 for a HF tailcoat and trousers in my size. But WTF am I going to do with it?

The Filene's where I saw this at also had a ton of clothing from Louis Boston and Mitchells, including Zegna, Kiton, Oxxford, Brioni, etc. Unfortunately their pricing was also insane. I felt like a pleb.

I've worn a white tie about 10 times and if I live to be a hundred I'll wear it about 14 times more. I may at some point in my life get a new one. Will you get the same use out of your tails?

I've worn black tie 4 times in the past 2 years. Never been close to anything in white though.
