Wholeheartedly agree with you.

I have never understood the appeal of the small blade hanging much longer than the longer blade. It's a look that appears contrived, and paradoxical considering classic menswear is strongly associated with projecting an air of neatness.

That dreadful inverted "v" gap showing the shirt between the top of the trousers and the buttoned jacket in modern suits. An example here:
