RIP RLBL

[Never Nude]

Sorry if this has been discussed before, but I searched and didn't see anything. Anyway, Ralph Lauren Black Label has been discontinued. I know that some in here think RLBL is overrated, but I'm disappointed to see it go. I didn't get around to purchasing a RLBL suit until very recently, but I am very happy with the fit and quality for the price point. For those RLBL fans out there, there are still some offering on the RL and other sites, but they are quickly selling out.

It's not discontinued. It's been merged with Purple Label. The suit cuts and styles haven't changed.

So RLPL now has:

1. Cheaper RLPL that used to be called Black label.

2. Regular RLPL (Handmade, pricier).

Thanks, but if you are correct and they are selling the same items but with just new branding under the RLPL line, then that seems like a bad deal because the MSRPs of the former RLBL items are higher than they were under the old RLBL line. Guess we'll have to see how things shake out.

They say the fabrics on the new ones are better.

Yeah, I spoke to a rep at the Chevy Chase Ralph Lauren last October. He filled me in on PRL moving upmarket while RLBL and RLPL merge lineups. As a whole, the company is shifting slightly trend-forward.
