GRRRRR... Just ordered some of this, some of the non-silicone LP, AND some of the mustang paste.

The Renomat is awesome ... just use it with a rag and sort of scrub the boot with it, section by section. There may be some instructional type stuff online as well ...

Yeah, that is frustrating to get a couple of products that you thought were something else. Keep us updated on how the new products work out.

You should see my "boot section" cup board ... LOL ... it's riddled with such products. Good thing is, there's always something else I can use them on ... work boots, belts, baseball gloves ... hell, I've even conditioned my wallet. LOL ...

My new 8181s... The silicone really did not darken these much. I think possibly a tiny, tiny bit after looking at them, maybe 1% darker, not much at all. Even thought silicone is supposed to be fine on this leather, I'll be switching to regular RW LP.

In this picture you can kinda see at the top of the tongue where I used the RW original boot paste. It didn't darken them much, but just a little bit darker than the rest of the leather that I applied RW silicone LP. The boots came with oil or something already on them and that's why the front toe is so dark. They were like that out of the box as far as the front toe.

In this last pic here you can see there is already some indigo patina from just wearing these a single time (about 6 hrs) with some new indigo jeans. So looks like the jeans color will transfer to these FAST. Not sure if I like or don't like that yet. Will have to wait and see how it develops.

And here is my RW collection, 8181 classic round hawthorne muleskinner, 8115 iron ranger copper rough & tough, 8126 brogue ranger black chaparral... I'll be using the cleaner I mentioned in my last post (thanks s1rrah!!!) on the 8115s and the 8126s and applying the mustang paste and non-silicone LP to the 8115s and the RW black polish and LP to the 8126s after cleaning (unless somebody has a better idea what each leather would benefit from - I'm all ears).

Remember, you don't have to condition or oil because you might get caught in the rain for 10 min. RW makes a decent boot that will survive you spilling some of your Appletini on it

They run pretty narrowly so I'd bet a 6.5 would be better for you. But definitely try them out if you can.

Thanks! I called my closest red wing store and they didn't have my size so they said they would have to order the 6 and 6.5 and it would have to be paid in advance. I was pretty pissed. Also, I'm planning to buy from gravity pope because they're around 250 usd after conversion.

Sounds like your local store sucks. My local store will ship them to the store if they don't have them just so you can try them on, no obligation to buy.
